Stones, driftwood and other materials are essential for the creation of Nature Aquariums and paludariums, and we are seeing more and more people enjoying aquatic plant layouts and paludariums with simple, small tanks and glass pots. The ADA layout materials series “KUMU” are new decorative materials packaged in easy-to-try amounts for small tanks and glass pots. With KUMU, unlike previously, materials are easy to see, choose and can be handled cleanly. The initial lineup comprises 24 types of material across 4 categories- stone (ST), gravel (GR) sand (SA) and wood(WO). Used in combinations, the expressive possibilities increase exponentially. ST-01 Ryuoh Stone (300g) – 30~80mm
Stone of a cool color evocative of a reef. Its pointed forms make for easy combining.

ST-02 Ohko Stone (250g) – 30~80mm
Of a yellowish color and characterised by its bumpy surface, it hardly affects water quality.

ST-03 Yamaya Stone (300g) – 30~80mm
Its bluish-black angular shapes match layouts easily, even placed without adornment it makes a layout impressive.

ST-04 Lichen Stone (400g) – 30~80mm
Characterised by its streaked surface and rounded form.

ST-05 Jagure Stone (400g) – 30~80mm
It’s smooth, rounded form is ideal for use in representations of clear streams.

ST-06 Red Slate Stone (300g) – 30~80mm
Distinctive banded red and white hues. Flat and rough, it is easy to stack stonewall-style.

ST-07 Buff Layer Stone (300g) – 30~80mm
Easily strengthen a composition’s sense of unity by aligning the stripes of its surface.

ST-08 Red Lava Stone (150g) – 30~80mm
Use its reddish-brown hues in combination with plants to bring out the green.

ST-09 Black Lava Stone (150g) – 30~80mm
A very versatile and porous material that can be attached moss and epiphytic plants.

GR-01 Flat River Gravel S (250mL) – 5~10mm
Flat gravel with carved corners evocative of Japanese riverbeds. Effective for producing a refreshing feeling.

GR-02 Flat River Gravel (250mL) – 10~40mm
Flat River Gravel
Of the same shape and character as the S size. Can make for realer expressions when used in combinations.

GR-03 Hazel Gravel S (250mL) – 2~3mm
Distinctive grains of sharp shapes with warm hues. It helps with detail creation, like scattering over sand.

GR-04 Hazel Gravel (250mL) – 2~3mm
With a distinctive reddish-brown and cream colored marble pattern, it also works well in paludariums.

GR-05 Maize Gravel (250mL) – 2~4mm
Black, brown and red grains mixed into an overall yellowish color for a stylish look.

GR-06 Rose Gravel (250mL) – 2~3mm
A red material with some transparent grains. Its color changes little even when wet.

SA-01 Blanco Sand (250mL) – 0.4~0.85mm
Almost pure white. Produces a fantasy effect, and can also be used for color adjustment when mixed with other sands.

SA-02 Ivory Sand S (250mL) – 0.4~0.85mm
Decorative sand of a standard color which also goes well with stone and wood.

SA-03 Ivory Sand (250mL) – 0.85~2mm
Standard color. Combine with the S size for enhanced detail.

SA-04 Blond Sand S (250mL) – 0.4~0.85mm
Its color, deeper than Ivory Sand, gives it a calming impression.

SA-05 Blond Sand (250mL) – 0.85~2mm
Of coarser, more angular grain than the S size. Used effectively it can greatly change a layout’s impression.

SA-06 Vanilla Sand (250mL) – 0.4~0.85mm
Cream colored grain with some blacks mixed in, not too eccentric a color.

SA-07 Brook Sand (250mL)
Colors evocative of downstream sediment deposits which give a layout a calm impression.

WO-01 Horn wood Chip (85g) – 50~100mm
Small pieces of straight hornwood. Many are pointed and give a sharp impression.

WO-02 Horn wood Pieces (4 pieces) 60~100mm
Small, curved pieces of hornwood. Can create flowing lines when thoughtfully combined.
